I was born and raised in Somerset, NJ where I had the privilege of being raised by Godly parents who were committed to the word of God and faithful to His church. After graduating in 1991 from Timothy Christian School in Piscataway, NJ, I attended Word of Life Bible Institute in upstate New York. I transferred to The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California, where I played soccer and majored in Physical Education and minored in Athletic Training. During college I was blessed to meet and later marry, Deborah Prociw the daughter of Rev. Donald and Marlys Prociw who have served the Lord faithfully in the greater Seattle area for over 20 years. After graduation in 1995 I returned to the east coast to work with the family business and pursue a professional career in soccer. I played and worked for about six months and then decided I would be better served to commit to marriage and a full time job.
Deborah and I were married in Seattle in 1996. After living in New Jersey for a year, I was given the opportunity to become a commodities trader at the Chicago Board of Trade. We moved to Illinois and started attending Grace Church of Dupage in Warrenville where our dear friend, Scott Ardavanis, pastored. We immediately plugged into the college ministry and served on staff until we moved to Puyallup in 2005.

A long story, and several children later, we moved to Washington because we desired to be closer to family. We trusted the Lord to use us where he saw fit in Washington. We have been blessed to spend the last few years at Valley Bible Church (now Edgewood Bible Church) in Edgewood. We began to get involved and the Lord led me to serve in Men’s Ministry. In the last year, I was asked to serve as an elder and we fell deeply in love with God’s people and his church. Over the last few years the Lord has placed in my heart an irresistible desire to serve him in a capacity that would demand our trust in Him for our provisions.
Last year, I had the privilege of coming to speak to the Refinery (CBC's high school group) at Winterflash. The rest, you could say, was in the sovereign hand of our great God. After seeking counsel from my pastor and elder board they gave me their blessing to follow as the Lord led. I am humbled and amazed to be here at Crossroads. The Lord has placed in my heart a deep conviction to uphold the truth of His word and to be about the work of discipleship. Deborah and I are excited about our new church family and our children are eager to make new friends and get involved. If the Lord has placed on your heart to minister to our college students here at Crossroads or burdened you for the souls of our neighboring campuses, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
Debtor to Grace,
Stephen Janho
